Weekend event schedule for Wicomico Co. Schools due to weather

School officials have announced that many of its weekend activities will be rescheduled due to the recent weather.
The release from the school district is as follows:
Due to the current weather issues, homecoming activities that were scheduled this weekend for James M. Bennett and Parkside High schools have been postponed, and will be rescheduled at a later date.
The decision was made Friday afternoon in consultation with coaches, law enforcement, principals, Central Office staff, and others. Among the factors in the decision were player safety, road conditions, and the limited availability of deputies for security due to other responsibilities in the community.
The two high schools will make a more detailed SchoolMessenger call to school families later today. New dates will be announced by the schools in the near future.
Affected by the schedule change are:
- Friday: Homecoming football game between James M. Bennett High and Snow Hill High, at County Stadium (postponed)
- Saturday: Homecoming football game between Parkside High and Queen Anne’s High, at County Stadium (postponed)
- Saturday night: Homecoming dances for James M. Bennett High and Parkside High (postponed)
- On as scheduled: A memorial service for the late Frank Grate, former assistant principal of Mardela Middle and High School, will take place at Mardela Middle and High at 10 a.m. Saturday.
- SAT testing will take place as planned on Saturday morning, at Salisbury Middle School. Please allow enough time to get to the school if Lake Street still has flooding. The school is accessible from Route 50 west of Nanticoke Road.
