Washington High’s new field part of a complete image overhaul

Washington High School is re-branding who they are this year, as their athletic director says they’re even considering adopting the motto “Look good, feel good, play good.”

Thanks to a little help from the state the Somerset County high school received a facelift for their football field, swapping out what resembled a dirt field with bermuda grass maintained by a new irrigation system.

Also new this year,  brand new fencing and a new sidewalk and parking lot to allow for better access for those with disabilities.

Athletic director Daniel Lamb said the new facelift coincides with a bigger movement at Washington.

“We’re really trying to change things here at Washington and it’s starting with the facilities, sports programs are getting a lot better, we’re competitive now and that’s been a change from years past,” Lamb said.

On a separate note, Lamb said the girl’s basketball teams will also dawn new Under Armour jerseys this winter.
