UPDATE: Salisbury apartment fire leaves four familes displaced

An apartment fire at Waterside Apartments has left four families displaced, at least for the night.

Salisbury Fire Department and Hebron Fire Department arrived shortly after 10 a.m. to find flames billowing out of a open apartment door on the first floor of the 1103 building on Parsons Rd. 

No injuries were reported.

Officials said the apartment where the fire started appears to be a total loss. The surrounding three apartments also experienced smoke damage.

No official word yet on how the fire started, however it was discovered the fire started in the living room.

Total damages for the apartment where the fire started are roughly $30,000 according to the state fire marshal’s office.

According to the fire department none of the families will be allowed to stay at the 1103 building tonight.

Authorities tell 47 ABC that the Red Cross will assist with the displaced families.
