UPDATE: Remains found in Somerset Co. are not suspicious

47ABC has received an update to the story of human remains found in Somerset County on Wednesday.

Wednesday morning, a construction crew uncovered the remains as they were digging to put in a utility line.

Maryland State Police have confirmed that the remains found off Landon Store Road in Marion turned out to be a family burial from the 1970’s.

Authorities say the family did not have enough money to bury their child in a cemetery, so instead they buried the child’s remains inside a cooler.  

No further information was made available.

Maryland State Police have confirmed to 47ABC that remains were found this morning in Somerset County.

Authorities have not confirmed many details, but reports say a cooler was dug up by a construction company, and human remains were inside.
 
We are told the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division is investigating.
