UPDATE: 1 killed, 3 injured in Cambridge house fire

fire in cambridge has killed one and injured three. two of which — were firefighters — battling the flames this morning. 47 a-b-c’s lili zheng joins us live from cambridge. lili — do investigators have any reason to believe this could be a case of arson? emily — it appears too early to tell. however we do know that the maryland state fire marshal’s office is now working with the cambridge police department to find answers. you can see the damage behind me — the home completely destroyed early this morning. and while details leading up to exactly what happened are limited — officials we spoke to earlier say they are not ruling anything out yet. track 1 within this charred home — on the 1-thousand block of locust street — joe flanagan and his team — sift through remnants. searching for any evidence — which might point to what started the fire — that destroyed this home. we’re still in the early part of the investigation 24 so everything…we’re just preliminarily getting it. we have a lot of digging to do track 2 flanagan — deputy chief state fire marshal with the maryland state fire marshal’s office — says they’re working with the cambridge police. the fire was reported just after one a-m tuesday. according to police — two men were inside. the blaze killed one — and injured the other — who we’re told jumped out a window from the second floor. two firefighters assisting — were also hurt. when we came outside, all i seen was flames going from everywhere from out of that house. 53 they were everywhere. they were coming up on the electrical poles so it was sparks flying everywhere track 3 james rice lives two houses down and described the deceased man — as a good neighbor. he would always help us out , like he would always offer if we needed any help or anything. he was pretty much a helpful person and a nice person track 4 as for fire officials and law enforcement — they say they have their work cut out for them. we need to one, do a physical examination of the scene which is what we’re doing now and then once we get that, we’ll bring all of the evidence that we find together to try to come up with a determination now according to police — those firefighters injured in the blaze are expected to recover. as for the deceased man — we are told his body has been sent for an autopsy. emily — alright, thank you lili. 47 a-b-c’s lili zheng reporting live in dorchester county tonight. for the latest on this developing investigation — make sure to follow 47 abc on the air — and online. in delaware– a trial date has been set — for the
