On Saturday, the Easton Police say they responded to East End Liquors at 2 North East Avenue in reference to use of a counterfeit $100 bill.

According to the report, when officials arrived, they were told that the suspect was pulling out of East End Liquors parking lot in a Gold Cadillac, allowing police to conduct a traffic stop.

Officials say that Andre Lamont Price Jefferson, 28, of Easton, and Anthony Cordell Jefferson Jr., 26, of Easton, were found inside of the car after police were told that Andre Jefferson passed a fake $100 bill to buy items in the store.

Police were able to identify the $100 bill as a replica, motion picture bill meaning it had no monetary value. Officials say the bill had “Not Legal Tender” and “for Motion Picture use only” written on it in several places, clearly marking it as fake.

According to the report, police arrested Andre Jefferson for issuing a false document and possession of forged currency. He was taken before a court commissioner where he was released on personal recognizance pending trial.

Officials found that Anthony Jefferson had an outstanding warrant from 2015, and according to the charging documents, he assaulted an Easton man on June 13, 2015 on North Washington Street in Easton. The charging documents were for assault second degree, trespass private property, and disorderly conduct. Anthony Jefferson was also taken before a court commissioner, and released on personal recognizance.
