Troopers investigating Mount Joy-area drive-by shooting

The Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit says it is investigating the shooting of a 28-year-old man as he was standing outside of a home.

According to the report, around 9PM on Wednesday, a 9-1-1 call was received from a home on Miller Drive, saying that a 28-year-old man had been shot during a drive-by shooting. 

Investigators say that the man had been standing outside the house with several other people when a dark colored car drove by and began shooting.  

No other injuries were reported by the people standing outside, although a family dog suffered a gunshot wound that was as non-life-threatening.

The victim was taken by EMS to an area hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound on his lower body.

Officials say there is currently no suspect information available, and the only description of the vehicle was a dark in color car.
