Trimper’s named oldest U.S. family-owned amusement park

An Ocean City favorite has been named the country’s oldest family-owned amusement park.
Trimper’s Rides has been open since 1892.
Today, it features 50 attractions on top of about 20 games plus arcades and restaurants.
Operations manager Brooks Trimper says they found out about the designation about six months ago; however, it was officially announced on Wednesday.
When asked, Trimper told 47ABC he feels proud to be a part of a park with so much history.
“It’s a family business. It’s been here pretty much since the beginning of Ocean City,” says Trimper. “We kind of feel like we were involved with the growth of Ocean City in terms of turning it into what it is today and definitely feel very proud that it’s been recognized.”
