The 42nd annual Sunfest kicks off fall season in Ocean City

Ocean City’s Sunfest has earned its spot at the top of many event/festival lists globally.
The event which occurs at the Inlet Lot from September 22-25, offers something for everyone, is four days of plain fun by the beach and on the Boardwalk, and admission to Sunfest is free.
Officials say, Sunfest includes over 250 vendors, and over 180 artists. It also mixes live music, artistic demonstrations, gourmet food and beverages, along with family hayrides on the beach. Officials say, guests can experience the famous food tent or relax to the sounds of free entertainment at the outside pavilion. SunFest begins on Thursday, September 22 with a parade along the Boardwalk at 9:45AM beginning on 12th St. Beach Plaza Hotel and continuing to the festival grounds including a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:15AM. Officials say, event hours are 10:00AM. to 10:00PM, from Thursday until Saturday and 10AM. to 6PM on Sunday.
Sunfest includes live and free entertainment, excluding evening headline shows. On Thursday night, Chubby Checker and The Wildcats will be headlining. On Friday, Chris Janson, and Saturday, Eddie Money and special guest Sir Rod will be taking the stage.
The Ocean City Convention Center Box Office on 40th Street will be giving out tickets. Box office hours are 9AM to 4PM from Monday through Friday.

Restricted parking is on festival grounds, so visitors are recommended to take advantage of town’s park and ride services. The West Ocean City Park and Ride on Route 50 just west of the bridge is a good location for visitors attending with free parking and shuttle service to and from the South Transit Center on South Division Street, a block from Sunfest. Shuttle service is cost $3 to ride all day.
Officials say, special event express shuttle service is available at the Convention Center on 40th Street., where free parking is available on the south lot and people can ride the express shuttle to Sunfest.
Fare is $3 to ride all day, along with the Coastal Highway bus fare service. More park and ride locations are at the Public Safety Building on 65th Street, the municipal lot at 100th St. and Northside Park at 125th Street
Officials say, the $3 ride all day pass is counted for use on Coastal Highway. Park n Ride and Express Shuttle buses run 24 hours. Exact fare is necessary. The Boardwalk tram also will be taking passengers during the event with fare of $3 one way.
