Taylor Paces Kent County Field Hockey Past Easton

The Kent County field hockey team earned a 3-1 road win Wednesday when they defeats Easton in their season opener. The Trojans improve to 1-0, while the Warriors fell to 0-1 on the year.
The Trojans would take an early 1-0 lead in the first half before both defense would buckle down the remainder of the half. After 20 minutes in the second half, the Warriors would tie the match after Lexi McDaniel would send a cross into the box that Erin McDonald would settle, and fire into the back of the box. With the game in the balance though, Maddie Taylor would take it over down the stretch. First after getting a steal deep in Warriors territory, she would call her own number and finish near post. Then just minutes later, she would attack the right side and send a cross into the box that got through everybody, and found the far post for the score. The Trojans defense would do the rest from there as they held on for the win.
Kent County returns to work on Monday when they host Washington, while Easton host Saints Peter and Paul on Monday.
