high school football tours. yeah david 2 1/2 weeks doing these things, and they never really get old. they are coming to an end, which means the season is finally about to get underway. but the team we’re stopping by to check out today, made it to the maryland 2a state semifinal a season ago. although they lost a couple of key players, word around denton is that the bulldogs may bite a little harder this year, 47abc’s hayley milon has the story. track last season was a season of firsts for north caroline. first undefeated regular season, first conference title, first time making the playoffs, first time winning a playoff game.. that win sent them to the quarterfinals, where they faced walkersville. north caroline led for most of the game, but walkersville kicked the game winning field goal as time expired in win 17-15, bringing the bulldogs spectacular season, and their list of firsts, to an end. this years team, though, knows that in order to replicated last season’s success, it needs to have a short memory. sot just to finish this year. just to make it. last year was last year we just need to do what t we do best honestly track but they’ll have to do what they do best without a few important pieces to last year’s miraculous puzzel. the bulldogs lost 2nd all state running back kenny jackson, wide reciever anton black, and quarterback cameron byrd sot those are big losses that we gotta replace and i think we got the guys to do it but we’re still working. track among the possible replacements at quarterback are chaquan murray, cody pepper and seth taylor. sot all good guys all do some grea things and hopefully one of them will figure out who is going to start. we got some solid kids track solid may be an understatement forfirst team all conference runningback david baily junior. and he wont be the only force on offense this year. sot we got guys who are working hard. i think we got some good runningbacks we got some good linemen up front who i think are going to get into their blocks and stay with them so we’re going to grind on people. track while this season’s offense gets adjusted, the defense will need to set the tone early in the season sot we got a lot of returners a lot of experience so we’re counting on them and they’ll have to come through and help us out a little bit. track to bolster an already strong defense, the bulldogs add transfer ja’mion franklin, one of the top linemen in the state. track franklin bring a key element to the team. sot physcial, we gotta play physical track which is crucial if north caroline is going to stay on top this year. sot if we don’t play physical, they gonna push us back all game and we’re gonna be in a hole. track while the bulldogs could be riding high coming off of their historic season, coach mccormicks entire squad has their heads down as they work, with one goal in mind: sot finishing. just finishing, getting everything done, no mistakes this year, can be made this year. from ridgley md, im hayley milon, 47 abc. the bulldogs kick off their season in just over 24 hours when they travel to take on easton. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page at
