a look at these photos posted to the chesapeake bay foundation’s facebook– they were taken by waterman greg brown last saturday. you can see a pretty good size bull shark making its way up to a vessel near tangier island. the foundation says the bull shark sighting is not out of the ordinary for this time of year– especially considering the very warm temperatures we’ve had lately. other sharks you can typically see in our area include sandbar sharks– sand tiger sharks — and dogfish. a little less common– we’ll occassionally see a hammerhead or tiger shark in the bay. and as we’ve mentioned– we’re still seeing warm water in the area– from warm temperatures.
