Salisbury man charged with animal cruelty; pit bulls seized

Deputies from the Wicomico Co. Sheriff’s Office say they arrested Wayne Lashley, 35, after a warrant was issued in an animal cruelty investigation.
Officers responded to a residence along Jersey Road in Salisbury back in June, to find two pit bulls, seemingly malnourished and chained to the property.
Following an investigation, authorities say the pit bulls did not have proper access to water, as the heat exceeded 90 degrees during the day of the inspection.
The dogs were seized from the property, and Animal Control identified Lashley as the owner.
A warrant was executed on Sept. 22, 2016, and Lashley was taken into custody and later released.
He now faces charges of Animal Cruelty: Fail to Provide Proper Drink, and Animal Cruelty: Fail to Provide Veterinary Care.
