Salisbury man arrested after setting girlfriend’s clothes on fire

On Monday morning, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a reported disturbance at a home in Salisbury.
Around 7AM, the deputy reportedly went to Nevins Place in Salisbury, and when they arrived, saw a pile of clothes on fire in the driveway.
Through further investigation, the deputy was able to find out that Kevin Lawrence, 50, of Salisbury, set his girlfriend’s clothes on fire after the two apparently had an argument.
According to the report, the girlfriend claims the argument began the evening before after Lawrence brought home a subject she described as “a woman of ill repute.”
The deputy placed Lawrence under arrest and took him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.
Following an initial appearance and being charged with malicious burning and malicious destruction of property, the Commissioner detained Lawrence in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond.
