Salisbury gets it done on the ground, beats up Montclair State

The No. 16 Salisbury University football team rushed for 461 yards and 5 scores en route to a 40-20 victory over Montclair State on Saturday afternoon.
The scoring got off to a quick start, with Salisbury fullback Connor Canonico getting into the endzone on an 8 yard run less than four minutes into the game. MSU responded quickly on their first drive, with running back John DiStephano going 75 yards to the endzone to tie the game up. Canonico would get into the endzone for his second score of the game on the Gulls next possession to give SU a 14-7 advantage less than 10 minutes in.
After Canonico’s second score, the Gulls would reel off 20 straight points over the next two quarters, including a passing and rushing touchdown to give Salisbury a 34-14 lead to begin the fourth quarter. MSU would add two scores in the fourth quarter to pull things closer before the end of regulation.
