Salisbury city councilwoman steps down from post

mitchell announced plans to resign. mitchell tells 47 abc that a couple months ago her husband accepted a job in washington d-c – and since then she has been commuting back and forth between salisbury and rockville. and a couple weeks ago a family tragedy struck — the death of one of their grandchildren. mitchell says she felt it was time to be a complete family again — as she is currently raising her ten-year-old grandson and thought it would be best for him if they moved. 5:51it was not an easy decision to go this way but i’m certain it’s the right choice it’s right for our family it’s right for our grandson most importantly. our kids are our first priority and i always tell everybody family first family first and i have to practice what i preach 6:11 mitchell tells 47 abc that she her resignation isn’t official until september 30th — and she plans to be at the city council meeting on september 26th. as to finding her replacement — mitchell says the remaining council members have four weeks to replace her — and in the meantime will be reaching out and interviewing potential candidates. today — students and teachers of mardela middle and high
