Police investigating fatal crash in Dover

The Dover Police Department says it is investigating a fatal car accident that happened on Friday morning. 

Around 1:20 AM, officers reportedly responded to the area of South State Street, just south of Roosevelt Avenue, for a body in the roadway.

Officers say they found that Gregory Scott Jr., 42, was hit by an unknown vehicle in the northbound lanes of South State Street. According to the report, the victim was dragged about 60 feet as the vehicle continued to drive away from the scene.

Scott was apparently pronounced dead by Kent County EMS on scene, as a result of the injuries suffered in the accident.  

This case remains under investigation at this time.
