Plan ahead to attend the Sea Witch Festival on Oct. 28

The 27th Annual Sea Witch Halloween and Fiddlers’ Festival® has announced its Friday kick off date for October 28. Organizers say it is an event that is fun for little ones and family!

There are no fees for the Friday activities, however donations are appreciated. Some activities will be held outdoors; participants are asked to plan accordingly.

Below is a list of events taking place throughout the festival in Rehoboth and Dewey.

• TYKE BIKE RACE ON THE BOARDWALK – Children ages 8 and under are invited to ride on the Boardwalk on their trikes and bikes. The Tyke Bike Race will be held on Friday, October 28th; registration begins at 2:30 PM, relays run 3 – 4 PM. Smiley – the Chamber dolphin and Kody O’ Bear will be there, and K107.7 will be onsite with their prize wheel along with the Sussex County EMS, who will be distributing bicycle safety information. Tykes should register at the Chamber info table on the Rehoboth Boardwalk where it meets Rehoboth Avenue.  NOTE: All tykes are required to wear a helmet when riding.

• CHOO CHOO EXPRESS TRAIN RIDES – The Choo Choo Express will be taking small children on a short ride through Grove Park on Friday, October 28th from 4 – 6 PM. Children can ride in train cars powered by a John Deere lawn mower.  This activity is best for those 8 & under.

• MOVIE & FALL FUN AT THE SUSSEX FAMILY YMCA – Make plans to participate in the Sussex Family YMCA’s fall fun and movie night! Fun activities begin at 5:30 PM and include haunted schoolyard attraction, face-painting, crafts, costume contest, carnival style games, food trucks and concessions. This event will happen rain or shine.
  • “Frankenweenie” will begin at 8 PM and will be shown indoors, and there will be no fee.

• Trick or Treat with the Dewey Business Partnership Friday, October 28th, 6:30 – 7:30 PM.

• Haunted Bonfire & Graveyard – Friday, October 28th, 7 – 9 PM.
  • Join the fun at the Haunted Bonfire & Graveyard in Dewey Beach! DJ, dancing, ghost story teller, snacks, refreshments and spooky fun for all ages!
  • Located at Dagsworthy Street and the Beach. This event is weather dependent.
