North Caroline & Easton Girls Soccer Battle To 2OT Draw

The North Caroline and Easton girls soccer teams played 100 minutes of dead even soccer Tuesday night, ending in a 2-2 double overtime draw. The tie improves the Bulldogs to 2-1-1, while the Warriors drop to 2-1-1.

The Warriors would strike first in the 20th minute when Emma Skoglund would take a long pass, turn and send a shot from just outside the box to the upper frame for the score. She would then go down with an ankle injury and be forced to leave for the remainder of the game. Easton would be up 1-0 at the break, and come out ready to go in the second half. A lose ball in the box would be controlled by Molly Oertel and she would fire it home to give her team a 2-0 lead. That’s when the ‘Dawgs woke up. Rebeca Gibons would send one of the crossbar and Alexa Lawton would be there for the rebound and finish. Then just minutes later, Lawton would score off another rebound to tie the match up. Both goal keepers would settle in from there, as neither team would be able to score again.

North Caroline returns to work on Friday when they host Colonel Richardson, while
