Monday Memo – September 26, 2016

MONDAY MEMO
     TO:  ALL STAFF
FROM:  KATHLEEN
 DATE: 26 SEPTEMBER 2016

REGARDING LAST WEEK’S TRANSMITTER FAILURES, SPECIAL THANKS GO OUT TO

• Our Engineering Team, Bill, Jeff and Drew, who worked tirelessly through a series of frustrating testing and parts replacement efforts to bring our transmitter issues to resolution. They had everybody on board working towards the “fix” including manufacturing engineers and consulting engineers.
• All of you who took the hundreds of phone calls and responded to hundreds more emails from our frustrated, but loyal, viewers, as they stayed in close contact with inquiries. We even had customers drive downtown and walk into the lobby to inquire personally about the situation. Elaine Haggerty, who handled the brunt of the phone and walk-in inquiries deserves a ton of credit.
• Our News and Digital Teams who updated with website alerts and social media posts to assist in the keeping folks up to date and, last but not least, David Caldwell who wrapped it up in a newscast report Saturday night.
• Yet to do? I have a long list of phone calls to return to confirm that viewers now receive our signals. We will post an informational advisory on the website reminding viewers where they can go to see the premieres of favorite shows they may have missed and put it out on FB, if that hasn’t yet happened.
• So many of you, certainly more individuals than I can name, have done a lot of heaving lifting in the name of customer service in addition to your regular duties and, for that, I say “thank you so very much!”

FREE FLU SHOTS will be available to all employees and their immediate households. The date has been confirmed for Friday, 30 September, at the following times in the Conference Room:
• 8-9AM
• 3-4PM
Please sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board across from the time clock. We do need to provide an accurate count to ensure adequate vaccine. I encourage you to do whatever you feel is right for you and your family to plan for a healthy winter/flu season again this year. Signups are required by COB Wednesday and you are reminded to wear a short sleeve shirt.

STATION REFRIGERATOR CLEANING WILL TAKE PLACE WEDNESDAY MORNING AT 8AM! At that time, all items, whether in the refrigerator or in the door will be tossed for cleaning. You will be able to replace your items no later than 8:30AM, probably sooner. This is a real “speed cleaning” event, which is why we need all items removed.

YMCA MEMBERSHIPS FREE TO EMPLOYEES: Whether you are full-time or part-time, you are eligible to sign up for your free basic fourth quarter YMCA membership simply by being an employee of 47ABC. We recognize that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce and we want to do our part to help you get or stay fit. This opportunity is available to you and your immediate family who live in your household:  spouse, significant other and kids. The sign-up sheet is on the Station bulletin board across from the time clock. If you want to have that free basic membership, sign up by the end of this week. If your family status has changed (i.e. single to family) or you no longer wish to have your membership, make the appropriate notations on the list. If you are a new employee, check with your Department Head about adding your name and status.  Check out the YMCA website for details about other area YMCA’s that your membership may be good for.
