THE AWARD FOR THE EMMY NOMINATION has arrived and is on the top shelf of the display cabinet in the Lobby.  The inscription reads: “The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter, honors Emily Lampa, Investigative Reporter with the Emmy nomination for Public Current Community Affairs – Program Special, Tiny Tick:  Big Controversy, WMDT, National Capital Chesapeake Bay, 2015 Regional Emmy Awards.”  Again, congratulations to Emily and the participating Team members!

MEET THE NEWEST ADDITIONS TO OUR SALES TEAM!

Tamara Horn joined our Sales Team on 16 August. Tamara has been in marketing and sales for over eight years and brings considerable computer skills to the Team.  Her background and work experience includes that of a Sales Coordinator at WBOC, Managed Property Representative for Comcast and Regional Sales Representative for Comcast. If you haven’t already met her, please join me in welcoming her to our Team.


Jimmy Tindall, Jr. joined our Sales Team on 23 August.  He comes to us from Delmarva Broadcasting where he was employed as a Media Sales Consultant. Prior to that, he was a Sales Development Manager for Comcast in Dover where he managed a team of 12 Sales Reps.  He also has worked as a Training Coordinator for Texas Roadhouse and as an Insurance Agent /Sales Manager. Jimmy has studied Business and Marketing at Salisbury University. Please join me in welcoming him to our Team.

CONGRATULATIONS to Master Control Operator Eric Walston who has been promoted from part time to full time Operator.

COMINGS AND GOINGS

•    Account Executive Kurt Herring will finish up on Wednesday.  We wish him well in his new venture.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Sales Team for the sales results generated with “Latino Flavor”. It was submitted for consideration as a “Topper” for the NAB 100+ (sales convention) and will be competing with other stations for the “Best Of” honor. John Ebert is working on the final submission video as I write this.

FREE FLU SHOTS will be available to all employees and their immediate households.  The date has been set for 30 September.  As soon as we confirm times with Dr. Gong, we will post a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.  I encourage you to do whatever you can to plan for a healthy winter/flu season this year.

FREE SHOREBIRDS TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR SEPTEMBER GAMES!

The baseball season is winding down, with just two Shorebirds’ games remaining.  Don’t miss your last chance for free tickets!  They are available as follows:

ATTENTION ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS! You have until Thursday at 5PM to get your best shots entered in local competition:

•    Wicomico County Tourism has announced their 2016 Photography Contest.  Amateur and professional photographers have the opportunity to submit photos of the lifestyle, beauty and assets in Wicomico County. There will be first, second and third place winners, along with a new People’s Choice winner. Deadline for submissions is 5PM, 1 September.  Cash prizes. Go to the Wicomico County Tourism website for details, official rules and voting.
