Milford man reportedly arrested on drug charges

Officers from the Milford Police Department say they arrested a Milford man following an investigation into drug sales conducted by the Milford Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit. 

Warrants had reportedly been obtained for Jimmy Artis Jr, 28, of Milford, and were of file as a result of this investigation.  

According to the report, on Monday, officers assigned to the Patrol Division were conducting patrols in the downtown area when they found Artis.  

Officers say Artis was taken into custody without incident, and he has reportedly been charged with two counts of manufactures, delivers, or possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Artis was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court #3 in Georgetown, where bail was apparently set at $200 unsecured on the possession of drug paraphernalia and $40,000 cash only on the two counts of manufactures, delivers, or PWID a controlled substance.  

According to the report, Artis has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution, and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on Friday for a preliminary hearing.
