MDOT officials visit three Eastern Shore counties to seek input

Every year Maryland Department of Transportation officials are required to go county to county to seek input on their specific needs and on Tuesday, three lower shore counties on the Eastern Shore got their chance.
MDOT officials were in Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset Counties Tuesday. During the meetings transportation officials sought input on Governor Larry Hogan’s 6-year $14 billion transportation plan. Officials touted the projects currently ongoing, like the Salisbury bypass and the Pocomoke City Bridge.
Jim Ports, the Deputy Secretary of MDOT, says, “Governor Hogan is very interested in hearing from local leaders on what their priorities are for their community and the counties that they serve.”
As for the rest of the Eastern Shore counties, officials are set to visit Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot, and Dorchester Counties in November. For a link to the specific dates, click here.
