Maryland students standardized testing results significantly

parcc testing scores in maryland this year. here’s a look at how students in caroline, wicomico, and queen anne’s counties did. starting in caroline. compared to last year — their scores were fairly consistent. no significant growth — however they still outperformed cecile, talbot, dorchestor, kent, wicomico, and somerset counties in math. in english language and arts — scores were lower then talbot, queen anne’s, somerset and worcester. wicomico county typically performs below the maryland average — at most grade levels. however, this year they showed significant gains — exceeding expectations in matt — for grades 3 -through- 8 and algebra 1. their e-l-a scores also exceeded expectations — for grades 4,6,7 and 10. queen anne’s placed 7th in the state — for their overall standardized testing. however — with a huge increase in algebra 1 — up 20 points from last year — they placed 2nd in the state for math. their e-l-a scores for high school students — ranked 4th in the state. we’re pretty happy at the same time you want to do much better but that’s the goal that’s why we take these tests overall every district recognized their strengths — but are more concerned with their weaknesses — and how they can improve next year. switching gears a
