Man arrested after traffic stop

A deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested a man on Tuesday for driving on a suspended license and violating a protective order.
Around 1PM on Tuesday, the deputy reported that they stopped a car being driven by Antonio Belote, 30, of Salisbury, for speeding.
According to the report, while the suspect was stopped, the deputy found out that Belote’s privilege to drive in the state of Maryland had been suspended.
The deputy was also able to find out that the the female passenger in the car had an active protective order against Belote that barred him from having any contact with her.
The deputy placed Belote under arrest and took him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.
Following an initial appearance where he was charged with violation of a protective order and driving while suspended, the Commissioner released Belote on personal recognizance.
