for something called “tiny homes.” aaron appling is a pastor for victory church and he says tonights meeting is a cry for help. he says his church has been trying for seven months — to get city leaders to buy into the idea of tiny homes they are 10 -by- 20 square foot homes — each built with a full bathroom, kitchen, and pull out bed. these spaces are designed to house one person. each house would reportedly cost about 10-thousand dollars to buildbut nothing is expected to happen without the city’s approval which is what they ask for every month at these city council meetings. still no approval but pastor appling says they will be at every city council meeting until something is done about the homeless population. according to the governor’s office, every year, on average, about 8- thousand people in delaware experience homelessness at least once. dover alone has five homeless shelters — but we’re told more than 100 people are still homeless in the community. the search for superintendent is underway
