Local activist groups hold protest in Salisbury

Fenix Youth Project and SURJ Delmarva held a protest Friday evening during Third Friday in downtown Salisbury.
The protest involved a public demonstration called “Say Their Names” where they voice the names of people that have become victims of social injustice.
Their goal is to educate the youth and raise awareness on what they believe to be police brutality and failed justice systems in the U.S.
Protester Jamaad Gould tells 47 ABC, “This is about police brutality. So we’ve all heard about or seen it on the news with all the killings of unarmed black men, black women even. All over the country and it’s just a demonstration of or pay homage to those people who have died in police custody because of police brutality.”
