Lions Roar Past Kent County In Season Opener

The Queen Anne’s football team opened their season with a statement blowout win Friday night when they defeated Kent County 58-14. The Lions improve to 1-0 on the season, while the Trojans move to 0-1.

The Lions were on a mission early on. Mike D’Angelo would operate Queen Anne’s offense up and down the field, leading them to a few touchdown drives. After running one in himself, he would find his big tight end Tyler Bonner from around 40 yards out for a score to push their lead to 37-0 in the second quarter. The Trojans were in danger of being shut out in the first half before Marcquan Greene would bust loose on a run up the middle, bouncing it to the outside and in for a score from around 50 midfield. That would be one of the only highlights for the Trojans though as the Lions kept on coming. D’Angelo would find Bonner for another score as the Lions quickly eclipsed the 50 point mark, and never looked back on their way to a huge opening day win.

Queen Anne’s returns to work next Friday when they hosts Bennett, while Kent County hosts Washington High School on Friday as well.
