Laurel Boys Soccer Holds Off Salisbury Christian Late

The Laurel boys soccer team pulled out a 2-1 win Monday afternoon over a very tough Salisbury Christian squad. The win improves the Bulldogs to 3-1.

Laurel would jump out to a quick lead, finding the back of the net just a couple minutes into the match. The teams would go back and forth from there, before the Bulldogs were finally able to find the net again when Perkens Augustin would send a pass over to Santos Rodas who would settle the pass, turn and fire it home. The Dragons defense would settle in from there after getting a number of great saves from Luke Shiderly. Salisbury Christian would get a score back in the second half off a beautiful shot to the top left corner. Then with under 3 minutes to play, the Dragons would have a shot to tie it off a PK, but the shot was wide right. The Dragons would never be able to tie the match as the Bulldogs were able to hold on for the win.

Laurel returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Delmar.
