KI takes care of first business on the road

The Kent Island Buccaneers won by a wide margin, but make no mistake Colonel Richardson made them earn every bit of their opening night victory in American Corner.
Twice in the first half Colonel’s defense was able to turnover Kent Island’s offense on downs, with the difference in score in the first quarter being a blocked punt, flipping field position.
Bucs’ quarterback Jordan Marciano hit wide receiver Sean Mooney for a 12-yard touchdown to score the game’s first points. After the opening score, the defenses competed back and forth with one another, with the Colonels and Bucs making several plays in one another’s backfield.
KI’s second score of the game came when the Colonels punt returner could not handle the punt, and as a result fumbled into the endzone. The ball was recovered by Kent Island’s Cameron Boui for a score just before the half.
In the second half, KI saw a more balanced attack, putting up more points and cruising to a 40-14 win.
The Bucs will be at home in their matchup next week taking on Elkton, while Colonel will try to get their first win of the season taking on Snow Hill.
