James M. Bennett is ‘Natalie Strong’ following tragic summer crash

Thursday marked just a over month since a Tyaskin teen’s life was tragically cut short.

Natalie Insley, 17, was killed in early August following a car crash on Sharptown Road. As her classmates at James M. Bennett High School (‘JMB’) deal with her death, they tell 47ABC they’ve also come together.

Bracelets were designed by Natalie’s eight closest friends, with one side reading ‘Natalie Strong’ and the other side reading ‘Clippers Choose Love’.

Erin Davis, Natalie’s art teacher at JMB, tells 47ABC a person who wishes to remain anonymous donated about 1,000 bracelets for the students to complete the bracelets in Natalie’s memory.

According to Davis, every senior and staff member has received a bracelet but the rest are being sold to the school and community. Funds will benefit Tyler Ennis, a Mardela High senior who was also hurt from the crash.

JMB senior Rylee Baker says she met Natalie in sixth grade, describing her as “always full of joy” also adding she always treated people with kindness.

“We all just want to make sure that Natalie’s never forgotten and help other people out who were involved in her family especially, and definitely Tyler as well who’s still in the hospital,” explains Baker. “We want to make sure he’s taken care of as well.”

The bracelets are being sold for three dollars a piece. We’re told they are printed in teal and coral, in honor of Natalie’s favorite colors.

For more information on the bracelets, contact JMB.
