Hurlock man reportedly charged with assault

Deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office say they arrested a man on Thursday, in relation to a domestic assault.
Jawaun Billy Jones, 24, of Hurlock, was reportedly arrested because of his involvement with an alleged domestic assault on June 20.
According to the report, the assault took place at Jones’ home, and involved a woman he was acquainted with. Officials say Jones is suspected of choking the woman and hitting her with a handgun during the assault.
Jones apparently was charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, wearing and carrying a handgun, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, and using a handgun in the commission of a crime.
He was reportedly ordered, and held on $200,000 bond.
