Homework help is back in Wicomico County

For the second year in a row, Wicomico public libraries are offering free homework help to students.

Starting today, students from kindergarten to 12th grades can come in to do their homework for no cost and a library card isn’t needed.

Students get free access to laptops, books, tablets, and printing for both color and black and white purposes.

All students have to do is show up and sign in with their name and the assignment they’re working on while volunteers are on hand to help.

Barbara Graham, child services manager, says they are doing the program because of the success they had last year, with one in particular.

“A mom was studying to be a nurse and her child wasn’t doing well in school. They were butting heads at home during homework time and so she brought him here. His grades went up to As she completed her degree. Everybody’s happy,” explains Graham.

Homework help is being offered at three different libraries within Wicomico County: downtown, Pittsville, and Centre.
