Grandmother charged with murder in death of 3-year-old boy

Angela Mossinger Bingham

Members of the Delaware State Police say they have arrested Angela Mossinger Bingham, 51, of Felton, after she told authorities she had murdered her grandson a week ago.

Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, DSP and Kent Co. Paramedics responded to a home on Skinner Lane, after Bingham reportedly called 911, stating that she wanted to do harm to herself and that she killed her grandson last week.

Police say  Bingham had left the house while she was on the phone with 911, and was located walking near the intersection of Reeves Crossing and Route 13.

At this point, she was taken into custody by Felton Police.

Meanwhile, the Troopers and Paramedics entered the house, where they reportedly discovered a deceased child in a bedroom, whose body they claim was decomposing.

EMS transported Bingham from the scene along Route 13 to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, where she was examined and released into the custody of DSP.

She was taken to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution and placed on no bail, according to a release from DSP.

An autopsy will be conducted on the boy’s body to determine the exact cause of death.

The investigation into why Bingham allegedly murdered her grandson is ongoing.
