Former Wesley Star Callahan Makes Packers Roster

Former Wesley star quarterback Joe Callahan got the news he was hoping for Saturday afternoon when he found out that he made the Green Bay Packers final 53 man roster. Callahan went undrafted after completing one of the greatest Division III careers ever.
Through the four preseason games that Callahan got to play in, he finished completing over 61 percent of his passes for 499 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. It was believed that he would still be a bubble player for the Packers though, as they weren’t initially wanting to carry three quarterbacks. His performance was enough though to earn him a spot.
Callahan finished his time at Wesley with his best individual season, throwing for 5,063 yards and 55 touchdowns. Those numbers helped him earn the Gagliardi Trophy, the Division III equivalent of the Heisman.
The Packers open up their regular season on September 11th when they travel to play at Jacksonville.
