Flu vaccines to be given at Somerset Co. Health Department

It is getting to be the time of the year that can be identified as flu season.

The Somerset County Health Department has announced it is holding mass clinics for flu vaccinations at 7920 Crisfield Highway, in Westover, every Tuesday from 9AM- 4PM.

The vaccine is available to adults and children older than 6 months.

Health Officials say that the vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older annually, as getting vaccinated yourself not only protects you, but also protects the people around you.

Officials say the cost of our flu vaccine this year will be $20, and for Medicare Part B participants, the cost of the flu vaccine will be billed to Medicare.

The Health Department asks that people bring their Medicare Part B cards and any Medicare supplemental insurance cards you may have.

Other insurances will not be accepted, but the department can supply people with a receipt to submit to their respective insurance insurance upon request.

Presentation of a valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
