Feds charge former charter school leader with theft

(AP) – Federal prosecutors have charged a former leader of a Delaware charter school with three counts of theft.

Authorities alleged in a court filing this week that Sean Moore stole and misappropriated more than $150,000 in funds belonging to the charter school from January 2012 through December 2014.
Moore is a former chief operating officer at Family Foundations Academy charter school in New Castle, which prosecutors say received federal funding through the U.S. Department of Education.
Moore and the school’s founder and chief academic officer, Tennell Brewington, were fired last year after an audit found that they had repeatedly used school credit cards for personal use.
Moore’s attorney did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
