Fatal house fire takes the life of four year-old girl

The young girl has been identified as four year old Aarionah Moore. The accident happened on Prince Street in Salisbury on Saturday at approximately 3:49 p.m.
Fire Marshals have determined Aarionah died from smoke inhalation.
“I had just talked to her earlier that morning,” said Chris Lester, the father of Moore. “I said I’m on my way baby, I’ll be there tomorrow. We talked a little bit and she said, Dad, I love you. Then a few hours later I got a call from her mother that this happened.”
That was the last time Chris Lester talked to his daughter, Aarionah Moore. Lester was planning to drive from Baltimore to Salisbury to see her on Saturday, only to learn that there had been a fire at the home where she lived. Four-year-old Aarionah died in the fire. Neighbors say it started in a shed at the back of the house. Aarionah had somehow been locked inside, alone, when there was an explosion.
“The whole house was on fire by the time they came here,” said neighbor, Anton Fooks. “When I first came out it was only the shed but by the time the firemen got here it had taken over the whole house.”
Investigators have not said how or why Aarionah was locked in the shed, nor have they said what type of explosion occurred. Luckily, no one else was injured in the blaze. Grief-stricken family members and friends have been dropping off stuffed animals and hanging balloons on the tree outside of the home to memorialize Aarionah Moore. Her family tells us that she had just graduated pre-k, with plans to join her other siblings at Prince Elementary as a kindergartner.
Meanwhile, the American Red Cross is providing; counsel, supplies, and offering lodging to the family members who are now without a place to live. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death of a young girl in Salisbury. Four year old Aarionah Moore died of smoke inhalation. She was removed from the dwelling by members of the Salisbury Fire Department and transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal is continuing the investigation into the origin and cause of the fire. The family started a go fund me account to help with funeral costs and finding a new home.
