DSP report stolen batteries from bus yards

Members of the Delaware State Police say 41 bus batteries have been stolen from two separate Sussex Co. bus yards.

Troopers say the thefts took place overnight Tuesday into Wednesday at the Lambden Bus Company parking lot in Seaford, and the Mary Bryant Inc. Bus Company in Laurel.

According to DSP, drivers found out the batteries in their vehicles were missing when they attempted to start the buses around 6:00 A.M. Wednesday.

At this point in time, Troopers say they do not have any suspects. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Troop 5 at 302-337-1090. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword “DSP.
