DSP investigating an early morning crash in Felton

The Delaware State Police say they are investigating a crash involving a tractor trailer and a car that happened north of Felton early Friday morning.

Officials say around 12:40 AM, Diana Torres, 34, of Smyrna, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo southbound in the northbound lane of South DuPont Highway, US13, just north of Midstate Road, SR12. 

According to the report, Earl Justice, 51, of Hebron, was driving a 2006 Freightliner tractor trailer northbound on US13 when the two vehicles hit nearly head-on.  

Officials say after the impact, both vehicles came to a stop in the center median.

Torres was reportedly not properly restrained, and was airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where she was admitted with undetermined injuries.

Officials then cited her for driving on the wrong side of the roadway and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Officials reported that Justice was properly restrained and was uninjured.
