District announces free college financial aid workshop

The Indian River School District has announced it is partnering with $tand By Me to offer a free financial aid workshop for students and their families.

This goal of this event is to promote college awareness and enrollment. 

Every year, Delaware students do not apply to college because they think they cannot afford it. Through this workshop, participants will learn that several kinds of financial aid are more accessible than ever before though, and college can be within their reach.

The Paying for College workshop will take place on September 22 at 6:00 PM at Sussex Central High School in Georgetown.

Organizers say that this workshop is aimed at helping families understand the financial aid process and secure cash for college.
