Delmar Football Stumbles vs. St. Mary’s

The Delmar football team fell just short in their home opener Friday night to St. Mary’s 14-6. The Wildcats fall to 1-1 on the year with the loss.
The ‘Cats would take the early lead in the game after getting a touchdown run from Brooks Parker. They would hold that 6-0 lead going into halftime. But the Saints would get going in the second half. They would get a short touchdown run from Donald Day, then they got another one from Gerard Beozins to stretch their lead in the 4th. Delmar would look to get a spark and drive down the field as senior quarterback Jimmy Adkins would break loose for a big pick up. But the drive would stall as they would come up just short in the contest.
Delmar returns to work on Friday when they travel to Caravel.
