Delmar Field Hockey Earns Physical Win At Lake

The Delmar field hockey team earns a tough, hard fought match Thursday afternoon at Lake Forest 2-0. The win improves the Wildcats to 4-0, while the loss drops the Spartans to 0-2-1.
The Wildcats would grab the early lead halfway through the first half after Peyton Kemp would come up with a rebound in front of the cage and fire it home. Lakes defense would settle in from there. The ‘Cats would fire 16 shots on goal and draw 11 corners in the first half, but weren’t able to find the back of the goal again thanks to several great saves from Brooke Tucker. Lake would then open the second half as the aggressors and have a great chance to tie the match after Kallie Moyer sent a pass to Grace Aguilar, but her shot would be just wide of the near post. Delmar would continue to attack after their slow start to the half, and add another score after Ashlyn Carr would be able to put one away. Delmar’s defense would do the rest as they close it out for the win.
Delmar returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Dover, while Lake Forest travels to Hodgson on Saturday.
