Delmar Boys Soccer Earns Historic Win Over Dover

The Delmar boys soccer team earned a history win Tuesday afternoon over Dover 2-1. It was the first Wildcats win over the Senators since before 2008, when the records become uncertain for the outcomes of games. The win improves the ‘Cats to 1-0 on the year while the Senators drop to 0-2.
The Wildcats would take an early lead after a loose ball in the Senators box would be put away after Evan Schuyler was just able to get a foot on it before the keeper was able to recover. The capital city kids would fight right back though as a break away would result in a 1 on 1 with the keeper for Emerzon Diaz and he would show great touch beating the keeper near post. Delmar would fight back with another goal with 10 minutes to go in the half when a deep through ball would find Jamel Allen on the right side, and he would send a low shot by the keeper to put the Wildcats back out in front. Delmar then packed in their defense in the second half as they would hold on for the win.
Delmar returns to work on Thursday when they host Indian River, while Dover host Polytech on Thursday.
