DelDOT suspending lane closures for Labor Day Weekend

The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced it will suspend lane closures on Delaware’s major roadways beginning at midnight Thursday, September 1 and ending at midnight on Tuesday, September 6.

DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center monitors and adjusts traffic signals for heavy congestion or incidents, and drivers can contact the TMC anytime at the following numbers: Dial #77 from any cell phone; 302-659-4600; or 1-800-324-8379.
 
They also urge drivers to use DelDOT’s App on their tablets and smart phones.
 
Motorists who have EZ-Pass can expedite their trip by using the E-ZPass Speed Lanes at I-95 Newark, SR 1-Biddles Corner, and SR 1-Dover Toll Plazas.
 
DART Route 305-Beach Connection operates bus service between Wilmington and Rehoboth on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, September 5, with stops at Amtrak Station in Wilmington; Christiana Mall Park and Ride; new stop in the Middletown area at Odessa Park and Ride; Scarborough Road; Park and Ride in Dover; and Rehoboth Park and Ride.
 
Once at the Rehoboth Park and Ride, passengers can connect to DART’s Resort Transit, operating seven bus routes, seven days a week from approximately 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. Resort Transit routes serve Rehoboth Beach and the Boardwalk, Lewes, Long Neck, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, South Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City, Maryland through Sunday, September 11.
 
DART Route 202 will start back up for the last two weekends in September operating every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., between Rehoboth Park and Ride, Rehoboth Boardwalk, Tanger Outlets and Midway Shopping Center. For the complete Route 202 schedule and bus stops, visit this page.
 
Visitors and residents in the Rehoboth area are encouraged to use the DART Park and Ride lot located off of SR 1 on Shuttle Road, just north of the entrance to Rehoboth Avenue. Drivers may also stop at the I-95 Service Plaza in Newark or the Smyrna Rest Area just off of SR 1, Exit 119.
