Delaware State Police state they are investigating a fatal Milford crash

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit say they are currently investigating a fatal crash that happened early this morning near Argos Corner.
According to police, the incident occurred around 1:09 a.m. on Saturday September 10, 2016. DSP state a 53-year-old Milford man was driving a 2010 Mercedes C30 southbound in the northbound lane of Coastal Highway, just north of Brick Granary Road.
Investigators claim that at the same time, a 28-year-old Dover man was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Passat northbound on Coastal Highway, approaching the Mercedes.
In result, police say the Mercedes’ front left struck the Volkswagen’s front in the northbound left lane. After the impact, police report that the Mercedes rotated counter-clockwise and exited the west side of the road where it came to a stop.
They said the Volkswagen rolled onto its roof as it slid off the east side of the road where it came to a stop upside down along a wooded area.
Police say the 28-year-old Dover male was pronounced dead on scene from his injuries.
The 53-year-old male was transported to the hospital where he was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
Right before the crash, witnesses state the Mercedes was driving recklessly and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Johnson Road and Coastal Highway. They also said the car then continued across the highway and into a field where the car began spinning and once it got out of the field, the car was observed traveling southbound in the northbound lanes until the crash happened.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit report they are continuing their investigation into this incident and say there are no charges filed at this time.
