‘Dawgs Escape Easton With Thrilling Win

The North Caroline football team pulled out a thrilling 49-48 win over Easton in both teams season opener Friday night. The Warriors move to 0-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs start off 1-0.

Easton came out and would throw the first punch of the game as Mason Ledford would find TJ Nixon for two quick touchdown strikes to build a 15-0 lead.  The Bulldogs would get a score back after Tay Potts would break one to the outside, cut it up field and go in for the score. Ledford would then have his 3rd touchdown strike of the game as he found Matt Barrow for a score. David Bailey Jr. then finally got going, scoring on a 1 yard touchdown run, then on a pass from Cody Pepper to get the ‘Dawgs within 22-21 at the half. Bailey opened the second half with a 63 yard touchdown run, and then another 22 yard touchdown run to give North Caroline a 36-22 lead. Ledford would find Nixon for their 3rd touchdown connection of the game. Easton would drive down the field and Zack Strand would find Jake Morgan for a score to pull Easton to within 1. They Warriors would try and go for 2, but the pass would be broken up, sealing the win for North Caroline

Easton will face Parkside High School on the road next Friday, while North Caroline will host Cambridge-South Dorchester High School.
