Church Seeks Approval for Homeless Aid

City Council rejected Victory Church's idea for helping homeless people.

for years. victory church serves as a resting place for the homeless population in dover. aaron and his team created tiny homes as a solution to that — but the city council rejected the idea saying they need proper approval before extending shelter to the homeless. 21 year old alexia simms is currently staying at victory church. simms is blind — and is also battling lupis. all this with a baby on the way. when i became homeless they put me in a hotel room for 30 days but i didn’t have anywhere to go after that. but they were supposed to give me 90 days but instead they just put me out on the street and said there was no other option for me butt asking for housing opportunities asking for them to rearrange whatever legal structures so that we before winter time can get some people off of the street – all of them the church plans on buying a camper for simms and her family to stay behind the church. pastor aaron appling and other community leaders will be attending the dover city council hall meeting tomorrow – to stand in front of dover’s lawmakers and ask for their hand in helping with the homeless population. clear skies and
