Bucs Bounce Warriors On The Road

The Kent Island girls soccer team opener their season up with an impressive road win as they traveled to Mardela and pulled out a 14-2 win. The win improves the Bucs to 1-0, while the loss drops the Warriors to 0-1.

Kent Island would go right to work after Ally Heath would fire one into the back of the net just minutes into the game. Shortly after that, the lead would stretch to 2-0 after Grace Schilling would take a shot that would hit off the cross bar. Heath would settle the rebound and chest it over to Schilling, who would volley it home for the score. The flood gates began to open up from there as Jade Ewing would net a free position kick from about 30 yards out. Mardela would try and battle back and finally begin to gain some control of the possession, getting shots off by Mariah Sterrett. The Bucs defense was solid in the first half though as they would build a 9-0 lead, and roll in the second half to the victory.

Kent Island returns to work on Thursday when they host Stephen Decatur, while Mardela travels to Cambridge on Thursday.
