Arrive Alive Tour coming to UMES Wednesday

UMES is reminding people that they are hosting their annual Arrive Alive Tour.
The Arrive Alive Tour from UNITE will visit on Wednesday September 14 from 10AM until 4PM at the SSC Courtyard on 30665 Student Services Center Lane, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
The program incorporates a high-tech simulator, impact video, and more resources to show the public about texting and driving and intoxicated driving dangers. The simulator gives participants the experience of seeing the possible consequences of impaired driving in a controlled environment.
A big driving distraction is cell phone use. Officials say, about 89 percent of Americans have a cell phone. Drivers 20 years old and younger reportedly have are at a big risk of driving distracted and getting into a deadly car crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Them not having a lot of driving experience can contribute to critical misjudgments if they become distracted. they also reportedly text more than any other age group, and the number continues to increase.
